Joe Gacy Pushes Back on Wyatt Sicks Creative Claims After WWE Exit

Joe Gacy has responded to claims that the Wyatt Sicks had run out of ideas before WWE decided to end the group. The former WWE star made it clear that, from his perspective, the issue was not a lack of creativity but a lack of opportunity to bring those ideas to television.

Speaking on The Five Marks Podcast, Gacy reflected on the group’s short run and admitted he wished things had lasted longer.

“Well, I appreciate that. Again, I… you know, I do wish we did more. I do wish we were there longer.”

He then addressed what he believes is a major misconception about the faction.

“It wasn’t short of any ideas on our end.”

According to Gacy, the Wyatt Sicks consistently worked on new material. He explained that coming up with ideas became part of their weekly routine, with the group regularly pitching concepts in hopes of expanding their story.

Gacy revealed that the group submitted ideas to WWE on a weekly basis, showing a steady effort to stay creatively active.

“We pitched stuff every week. Like, we had something every week.”

Those pitches were not limited to internal discussions. The group actively shared their ideas with WWE creative.

“We sent them like, ‘Hey, can we do this?’”

However, the responses varied. In many cases, the ideas were either declined or received no response at all.

“Either it was a no……or a no answer…”

On some occasions, elements of their pitches were used, though not always in their original form.

“…or sometimes they would take it and tweak it.”

Gacy noted that those moments stood out as positives during their run.

“Which was a good week. That’d be a week that we’d be happy.”

Despite these efforts, Gacy admitted he was never fully aware of who made the final decisions or where the creative direction was ultimately determined.

“Like, I don’t know. I don’t know where the decision was made or who was controlling those decisions on what we did and didn’t do…”

Still, he remains confident that the group had more to offer creatively.

“But I do think we had a lot more to offer……but, you know, I guess the company felt differently. So, it is what it is.”

Gacy’s comments contrast with reports that surfaced after WrestleMania 42, which suggested WWE believed the Wyatt Sicks had reached their creative limit. Those reports indicated that officials felt the group had already achieved what it could and was becoming difficult to maintain.

From Gacy’s point of view, that was not the case. He maintains that ideas continued to flow, but the opportunities to execute them became limited.
