El Hijo del Vikingo Set for Surgery Following Knee Injury

El Hijo del Vikingo’s injury situation has taken a serious turn, as the AAA star has now confirmed he will undergo surgery. What initially appeared to be a swollen knee requiring evaluation has escalated into a confirmed medical procedure.

Vikingo shared the update on Instagram, posting a photo of himself wearing a brace on his left leg while using a crutch. The image made it clear that the injury is significant. Along with the photo, he delivered an emotional message thanking those who have supported him and confirmed that surgery is scheduled.

“Your way, God, not mine.

Family, Mr. HDLV is going into surgery tomorrow. Thank you for your support.

A grateful heart weighs less. “Gratitude.” Thank you for your support and kindness.@dorianroldanaaa @wwe @luchalibreaaa @wwenxt

Thank you to my wife for always being there in good times and bad. I love you very much.@aleidis_oficial

Thanks to my brother for the support@wwefelixfernandez Say hello to me….”

The update comes after WWE removed Vikingo from a scheduled AAA Latin American Championship defense on the June 30 episode of NXT on The CW. He had been advertised to face E.K. Prosper, but the match did not take place.

Instead, WWE aired a backstage segment showing Keanu Carver standing over Vikingo, followed by Robert Stone calling for medical assistance. The angle was used to write Vikingo off television amid concerns about his condition.

As previously reported, Vikingo’s left knee was heavily swollen, and he had already been placed in a brace while awaiting further medical evaluation. With surgery now confirmed, WWE’s decision to pull the match appears to have been a precaution to avoid further damage.

The timing is unfortunate for Vikingo. He had recently been gaining visibility through WWE’s partnership with AAA, and the planned NXT title defense would have introduced him to a broader audience on U.S. television.

There is currently no official word on how long Vikingo will be out of action. His recovery timeline will depend on the nature of the procedure and rehabilitation process following surgery.
