WWE allocated a significant portion of its revenue to talent in 2022, according to newly surfaced financial details from a court filing.
A report from POST Wrestling, citing the documents, states that WWE spent approximately $195 million on talent that year. This figure includes both main roster and developmental performers and represents about 15% of the company’s total revenue of $1.29 billion.
The filing also provided insight into average earnings. Main roster talent reportedly averaged around $1.5 million in 2022, although that number may be influenced by higher-paid top stars. The report noted a substantial increase compared to 2020, when the average was approximately $890,000, nearly doubling over a two-year span.
The documents were prepared for a WWE Board meeting in early 2023 and became public as part of an ongoing shareholder lawsuit related to the company’s merger. While the figures are a few years old, they offer a rare look at WWE’s internal compensation structure.
According to the presentation, WWE expects talent compensation to remain steady at around 15% of total revenue moving forward. Projections included in the filing indicate that this percentage is expected to hold through at least 2028.
While individual salaries were not disclosed, the filing did highlight several contract updates. Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt, Logan Paul, Cody Rhodes, and Braun Strowman were listed among top names who signed renewals totaling $15 million. Brock Lesnar’s contract renewal was listed separately at $4 million.
Additional talent also received structured increases. Bianca Belair, The Street Profits, Gable Steveson, Rhea Ripley, Asuka, and Baron Corbin were noted as receiving annual step-ups totaling $2 million.
The information outlines how WWE structures talent pay relative to its overall business, showing both growth in average salaries and a consistent percentage of revenue dedicated to performers.
