The Miz is not currently scheduled for a match at WrestleMania 42, but based on his past experience, that situation could change without much notice.
Speaking on the Throwbacks Podcast, Miz recalled how quickly plans shifted during a previous WrestleMania at SoFi Stadium. He revealed that he did not know he would be competing until the day of the event.
“SoFi stadium, I didn’t find out till day of, that afternoon. They were like, yeah, you probably can have a match tonight. And I’m like, wait, what? Huh? And then it’s like, this is WrestleMania. This is what we build for.”
Miz explained that he stays ready for any role WWE might need him to fill, whether it involves wrestling, hosting, or other responsibilities during the show.
“I’ve prepared myself to where I can be put into any situation. I feel like WWE prepares you for everything. If you need to do a movie or a television show, you need to do something improv, you need to do any type of thing, hosting, whatever, it prepares you for it. And so I feel like I’m always well prepared for anything, any obstacle that comes in my way. So if they need me for a match, impromptu right then and there, I can definitely go out and put on the best match possible.”
He also suggested that there are still surprises planned for WrestleMania weekend that have not been announced publicly.
“I have a bunch of stuff that I have to do at WrestleMania that people don’t know about yet, but we always like to sneak things in.”
Miz even joked about stepping into a hosting role if needed, referencing John Cena.
“If they want me to take over hosting duties from John Cena, then I’ll do that as well.”
When asked about when he might find out if he is competing this year, Miz made it clear there is no set timeline.
“So when SoFi stadium, I didn’t find out till day of. At WrestleMania, this is what we build for. But the thing is, I’ve prepared myself to where I can be put into any situation.”
He also reflected on that WrestleMania appearance, where he went from hosting to wrestling twice across both nights, including moments involving Snoop Dogg.
“I didn’t have a match when I hosted SoFi stadium, like two nights, and then I had two matches. Both nights got People’s Elbowed by Snoop Dogg. So I mean, you never know what is going to happen in WWE and at WrestleMania.”
With WrestleMania 42 approaching, Miz’s comments highlight how quickly plans can change and why he remains prepared for any role.
