Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre made several announcements during its latest show at Arena Mexico, including a contract update and plans for an upcoming inter-promotional event.
During the event, it was confirmed that Thunder Rosa has signed a dual contract with CMLL. The announcement came while Rosa was in the ring, aligning with earlier reporting that a dual deal had been in the works.
Rosa had previously addressed the possibility in an interview, making it clear she was eager for the opportunity.
“Really you gonna ask me that question? Of course I’m interested in something like that,” Rosa said. “It’s a big deal, it is such a big deal and it’s such an honor when they recognize you to be somebody to be part of their organization. Absolutely, it would be an honor.”
In addition to the contract news, CMLL announced that it will once again collaborate with Major League Wrestling for a joint event scheduled for Friday, May 1 at Arena Mexico.
The two promotions have built a consistent working relationship in recent years. Notably, Ultimo Guerrero faced Blue Panther for the National Openweight Championship in Mexico last year as part of that partnership.
CMLL and MLW also held a similar joint show last May. Key matches from that event included Mistico defeating KUSHIDA, Guerrero capturing the National Openweight Title against Matthew Justice, and Neon facing Paul London in a bout that ended in a no contest.
With Rosa now officially part of the promotion under a dual agreement and another joint show on the horizon, CMLL continues to strengthen its collaborations and expand its roster presence.
