Adam Copeland and Christian Cage made their long-awaited return to All Elite Wrestling during AEW Revolution, and they immediately targeted the reigning tag team champions.
The moment took place after FTR successfully defended the AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks in the opening match of the pay-per-view. The bout was a physical and bloody encounter, and FTR celebrated in the ring after retaining their titles.
The celebration did not last long. The arena lights suddenly went out, and the word “Evenge” appeared on the entrance screens. Moments later, a block “R” appeared, completing the word “Revenge” as Copeland walked onto the stage and made his way toward the ring.
While Copeland was approaching, Christian quietly entered the ring from behind and attacked Dax Harwood with a Killswitch. Copeland then rushed into the ring and delivered a spear to Cash Wheeler.
Stokely Hathaway was left alone in the ring during the chaos. Attempting to avoid further damage, he offered Christian a handshake as a peace gesture. The moment did not work in his favor, as Christian responded by hitting him with a Killswitch as well.
Hathaway was then thrown out of the ring, leaving Copeland and Christian standing tall. The two veterans picked up the AEW Tag Team Championships and raised them in the air as the crowd responded with loud chants.
Shortly afterward, The Young Bucks returned to the ring and came face-to-face with Copeland and Christian in the center. The two teams briefly stared each other down before Copeland and Christian placed the championship belts on the mat and exited the ring.
Meanwhile, FTR slowly recovered and retreated toward the stage. Hathaway followed them, with a crew member helping carry him backstage after the attack.
Copeland and Christian had not appeared on AEW programming since September 2025. Their last appearance came at AEW All Out, where they teamed together to defeat FTR.
That victory celebration quickly turned into a shocking moment when FTR attacked Copeland’s wife, Beth Copeland, while Copeland was handcuffed to the ropes. Following that incident, Copeland stepped away from AEW television and told Christian that he needed to return home to take care of his family.
Their return at AEW Revolution appears to signal that the rivalry with FTR is far from over.
