AEW Revolution featured a major title change as Jack Perry captured the AEW National Championship by winning the 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal.
The match began during the Zero Hour pre-show but continued onto the main broadcast due to the number of competitors involved. Entering the contest as champion was Ricochet, who was recognized as the first-ever AEW National Champion.
After a chaotic match filled with eliminations, the final two competitors were Perry and Ricochet. The closing moments saw Perry charge forward and hit a clothesline before attempting to follow up with a German suplex. Ricochet managed to land on his feet, and both men ended up tumbling over the top rope and onto the ring apron.
With elimination only seconds away, Perry held onto Ricochet to keep himself from falling to the floor. Perry rocked the champion with strikes and then climbed the ropes, looking for an opening. Ricochet countered by catching Perry on his shoulders while both men balanced on the apron.
However, Perry quickly reversed the position and delivered a reverse hurricanrana that sent Ricochet crashing to the floor. The impact eliminated Ricochet and secured the victory for Perry.
With the final elimination, Perry became the new AEW National Champion and added another singles title to his résumé in All Elite Wrestling. The victory marks another championship achievement for Perry, who previously held both the FTW Championship and the AEW TNT Championship during his time in the promotion.
The match also featured several notable moments throughout the battle royal. Scorpio Sky made his entrance alongside Christopher Daniels, with the duo appearing together to their classic S.C.U. entrance theme.
Another moment that caught attention was the updated look of Lio Rush, who debuted a completely shaved head after cutting off all of his hair.
Following the match, Perry celebrated the championship victory at ringside with members of his family, including his mother and sister, as the crowd reacted to the title change.
