WWE Restricts Elimination Chamber Watch Parties in Chicago – WWE is reportedly limiting public watch parties for Elimination Chamber in the Chicago market.
According to Fightful Select, multiple venues in the area have been notified that they are not permitted to host viewing events for the premium live event on Saturday, February 28 at the United Center. The restriction applies even to locations willing to pay a licensing fee.
This development follows earlier reports that WWE also blocked establishments in Las Vegas from organizing watch parties for WrestleMania 42 under similar circumstances.
The blackout policy is believed to be connected to efforts to boost ticket sales for live attendance.
A Friday morning update from WrestleTix reported that 14,895 tickets had been distributed for Elimination Chamber. The current seating configuration is set at 17,016. At the time of the report, the lowest available ticket on the secondary market was listed at $261.05.
The card for the event features both the men’s and women’s Elimination Chamber matches. In addition, CM Punk is scheduled to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor. AJ Lee is also set to compete in Chicago, challenging Becky Lynch for the Intercontinental Championship.
With high-profile matches announced and ticket distribution nearing capacity, WWE appears focused on driving in-person attendance rather than expanding local viewing options. The situation mirrors recent policies tied to other major events, as the company manages live gate strategy heading into one of its key premium live events of the year.
