After the Royal Rumble, reports indicated that contract discussions between Styles and WWE had been ongoing. The company ultimately moved forward with the match against Gunther before a new deal was finalized.
In a recent interview with Stephanie McMahon, Styles did not rule out competing again. He spoke about the possibility of wrestling in the future, even mentioning the idea of teaming with one of his children at some point down the line. That openness has kept speculation active regarding whether his in-ring career is truly over.
Next week’s RAW will also feature additional Elimination Chamber qualifying matches. Raquel Rodriguez is scheduled to face IYO SKY and Kairi Sane in a triple threat match. Another qualifier will see Bronson Reed take on Jey Uso and El Grande Americano.
In addition to the tribute and qualifying bouts, Brock Lesnar has been announced for the Atlanta show. The appearance will mark his first time back on WWE television since his elimination at the Royal Rumble earlier this year.
