Royal Rumble Advertising Hints at NXT Entrants – WWE may have revealed several planned surprise entrants for the upcoming Royal Rumble through local promotion in Saudi Arabia. A new report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer notes that advertising in Riyadh features multiple names from WWE’s NXT brand, suggesting their involvement in the event.
The Royal Rumble is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, and will be held in Saudi Arabia. This marks the first time one of WWE’s traditional “Big Four” premium live events takes place outside of North America, making it a notable milestone for the company.
According to Meltzer, a billboard displayed outside the venue prominently includes several NXT wrestlers. Meltzer wrote, “NXT wrestlers Thea Hail, Tatum Paxley, Ethan Page, and Lola Vice are all featured on the billboard outside of the venue promoting the Royal Rumble.” Their inclusion strongly points to appearances in the Rumble matches, continuing WWE’s recent trend of spotlighting NXT talent on major stages.
One of the more notable names on the billboard is Oba Femi. The former NXT North American Champion has been positioned as a dominant presence on NXT television, and his appearance in the advertising appears intentional. Meltzer added, “Oba Femi is also featured on the Royal Rumble billboard amid plans for the former NXT Champion to move to the main roster.” If accurate, the Rumble could serve as a major introduction for Femi to a wider audience.
The billboard does not focus solely on NXT talent. It also includes Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, two of the most established stars in WWE history. Meltzer noted, “The likes of Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are on the billboard too.” Both competitors have been absent from WWE programming since Survivor Series 2025, where they last appeared in WarGames matches.
NXT participation in the Royal Rumble has become consistent in recent years. Past events have used the match to introduce future main roster names, making this year’s reported lineup consistent with that approach.
