Rey Mysterio & Charlotte Flair Expected Back Soon After Brief Absences – Rey Mysterio and Charlotte Flair both missed WWE programming over the past week, but neither situation appears serious. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both stars are expected to return to television shortly.
Dave Meltzer reported that Mysterio was kept off RAW due to a minor injury. The issue isn’t considered significant, and he’s expected back in the mix very soon. Flair, meanwhile, missed last week’s SmackDown because she was legitimately ill. WWE acknowledged her absence on-air, and Meltzer noted she was “very ill” throughout the week, which forced changes to the show’s plans. She has already rejoined the ongoing tour, returning at a live event on January 15.
Meltzer also provided updates on two more sidelined WWE talents. Chad Gable, who has been dealing with a shoulder issue, is nearing a return, and Tiffany Stratton — out with an undisclosed injury — is also expected back soon.
WWE is currently in London for SmackDown as part of its European tour, which runs through January 20. From there, the company heads to Canada for SmackDown, RAW, and Saturday Night’s Main Event before traveling to Saudi Arabia for the Royal Rumble on January 31.
