The Usos Announce Return to Tag Team Competition – AJ Styles and Dragon Lee closed out the first hour of Monday’s WWE RAW with another hard-fought defense of the WWE World Tag Team Championships.
The champions were tasked with turning back the War Raiders, Erik and Ivar, and the challengers made sure the titleholders felt every bit of their power throughout a heavy, fast-paced match. RAW fans saw a competitive, physical encounter, but Styles and Lee once again proved why they sit at the top of the division. The finish came when Styles connected with the Phenomenal Forearm on Ivar, securing the pinfall and keeping their reign intact as they continue toward Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Their celebration didn’t last long.
Moments after the bell, The New Day — Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Grayson Waller — made their way to the ring. Before they could even speak, the crowd erupted as The Usos appeared, making a surprise entrance through the audience. Jey and Jimmy Uso stepped into the ring and immediately made headlines. Jey revealed that The Usos are officially returning to the tag team division, marking their first unified stance as a team since the factional split that played out earlier in the year. Jimmy added that he pitched the idea following his segment on the December 1 episode of RAW, signaling that the reunion has been brewing for weeks.
The two wasted no time stirring the fire that long fueled their storied rivalry with The New Day. Tensions boiled instantly, and the segment ended with The Usos making their intentions clear: they plan to climb back to the top of the division and challenge for the WWE World Tag Team Championships.
Later in the night, Byron Saxton caught up with The New Day. Kofi Kingston immediately questioned whether The Usos really believed they could disappear and return whenever they choose. Kingston insisted that The New Day remain the greatest tag team in WWE history and declared that the titles belong with them. Woods backed him up, saying The Usos were right about New Day’s recent setbacks but promised the losing streak ends next week. Their message was direct and unfiltered: if The Usos want a path to the titles, they must go through The New Day — and nothing they bring, not face paint, ula fala, nor even their “father with the bad BMI,” will save them from being crushed under the Uso Penitentiary.
For AJ Styles and Dragon Lee, the path forward is already crowded. As noted earlier, they are set to defend their titles this Saturday at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event against Je’Von Evans and TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater. With The Usos now officially back, the championship landscape has grown even more competitive heading into 12/13.
