His wife, WWE Hall of Famer Michelle McCool, who joined the show during Season 2, is also absent from the upcoming season. Their departures created openings that Owens and Natalya have now filled.
Owens’ involvement comes at an interesting time in his career. The former Universal Champion is currently sidelined from in-ring competition after undergoing neck surgery. While he is out of action, his transition into a mentoring role allows him to remain active within WWE programming. Known for his sharp mind for storytelling and match structure, Owens brings years of experience across WWE and the independent scene, making him a valuable addition to the show’s coaching staff.
Natalya, meanwhile, adds another layer of credibility and continuity to the mentor lineup. Her background in training and development, along with her reputation as a locker-room leader, makes her a natural fit for guiding the next generation of talent.
Owens and Natalya will join WWE Hall of Famers Booker T and Bully Ray, both of whom return as mentors for Season 3. The combination creates a diverse coaching group, blending different wrestling styles, eras, and philosophies. That mix has been a core part of WWE LFG’s appeal since its debut.
WWE LFG focuses on up-and-coming wrestlers from WWE’s developmental system, who compete for the opportunity to earn an NXT contract.
