WWE Drops Hints About AJ Lee’s Role at Survivor Series – Rhea Ripley’s WarGames team may soon gain a major boost, as AJ Lee’s surprise return on WWE RAW has sparked speculation that she could join the lineup.
During RAW at Madison Square Garden, AJ Lee made her first appearance in years, distracting Becky Lynch during her Women’s Intercontinental Championship defense against Maxxine Dupri. The distraction proved decisive, as Dupri capitalized with a top-rope crossbody to score the upset and capture the title. Backstage, Lee celebrated with Dupri, praising her as an underdog while calling Lynch a bully.
When interviewer Jackie Redmond asked if Lee planned to stick around, she teased the possibility. “Jackie, when I came back, I wanted to help my husband out. He needed a hand. But Becky, she just lights a fire in me that I forgot that I had. She makes me feel things. So who knows?”
Before she could leave, Ripley approached Lee and asked for a private conversation. The two walked off together, fueling speculation that Lee could be added to Ripley’s WarGames team.
The 2025 Women’s WarGames match is currently set to feature Ripley, IYO SKY, and Alexa Bliss against Nia Jax, Lash Legend, Asuka, and Kairi Sane. Charlotte Flair was initially expected to join Ripley’s side, but stepped down due to her history with Ripley. As noted, Bryan Alvarez reported that AJ Lee is being discussed internally as Flair’s replacement, noting that WWE is preparing for her involvement.
If Lee does join Ripley’s team, it would mark her first WarGames appearance and her first Survivor Series match since 2014, when Nikki Bella dethroned her as Divas Champion. With Survivor Series just days away, AJ Lee’s return has added a new layer of intrigue to one of WWE’s most anticipated matches of the year.
