The Headbangers Announce Final Match Set for July 2026

The Headbangers Announce Final Match Set for July 2026 – Mosh and Thrasher of The Headbangers have officially revealed the date of their final in-ring appearance. The announcement came through Instagram, where the former WWE Tag Team Champions shared a video confirming that their last match will take place on July 23, 2026. The bout is scheduled for ISPW’s Legends of Wrestling Night at the Wildwoods Convention Center in Wildwood, New Jersey. In the video, the duo reflected on their 33 years as a tag team and joked that retirement could always be reconsidered if a call came from WWE or Japan.

The Headbangers built their reputation during their WWE tenure in the late 1990s, becoming one of the most recognizable teams of the Attitude Era. Their most notable accomplishment came on September 7, 1997, at In Your House: Ground Zero, where they won the vacant WWE Tag Team Championship. Although their reign was short and ended the following month, the victory cemented their spot in WWE history.

Their partnership briefly paused in 1999 after Thrasher suffered a knee injury. During that time, Mosh transitioned into singles competition, first taking on the Beaver Cleavage character before later competing under his real name, Chaz. The two eventually reunited before being split again the following year, with both ultimately departing the company.

In 2016, the team made a surprise return as part of the SmackDown brand. They competed in the tournament to crown new SmackDown Tag Team Champions but were eliminated in the first round by Heath Slater and Rhyno.

With their final match now less than two years away, fans will have a chance to celebrate the legacy The Headbangers have built over more than three decades.
