WWE Planning Massive 2026 Elimination Chamber Weekend in Chicago – WWE is reportedly preparing for a major wrestling weekend built around the 2026 Elimination Chamber premium live event. According to PWInsider, the company intends to turn Chicago into a multi-day wrestling hub, with several events planned across the city. The Elimination Chamber PLE is tentatively set for Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
The plan reportedly includes bringing SmackDown to Chicago the night before, on Friday, February 27. Beyond that, WWE is exploring the idea of expanding the weekend even further, with additional shows potentially featuring the NXT brand and even Mexico’s AAA promotion. The concept mirrors major wrestling festivals, giving fans multiple live experiences leading into the Chamber event.
This approach fits WWE’s current trend of maximizing fan engagement around Premium Live Events. The goal is to make Chicago a central wrestling destination for the weekend — creating what’s described internally as a “wrestling takeover” of the city.
There’s also a strategic layer to WWE’s scheduling. The February 28 date for the Elimination Chamber is not finalized, and sources have indicated that WWE could shift the event forward or backward by a week. This would allow the company to counter-program any potential AEW pay-per-view taking place in the same time frame. WWE has recently leaned into holding PLEs on Saturdays to avoid direct conflicts with major sports broadcasts and, at times, to go head-to-head with AEW.
If plans proceed as discussed, the Elimination Chamber weekend could feature main roster talent, NXT standouts, and international stars from AAA — making it one of the most anticipated wrestling weekends of 2026, just weeks before WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
