Update on Date and Location for WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 – WWE is preparing to bring the 2026 Elimination Chamber premium live event to Chicago, Illinois, on Saturday, February 28. The show is one of the final major stops before WrestleMania and often features key matches that determine championship contenders heading into WWE’s biggest event of the year.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the February 28 date is currently listed on WWE’s internal schedule, though the company may still adjust it by a week in either direction. The flexibility reportedly gives WWE room to counter-program an AEW pay-per-view if Tony Khan’s promotion announces one around the same time.
WWE has increasingly favored Saturday night events as its standard format for premium live events. This scheduling allows the company to avoid direct competition with major sports broadcasts and gives them more control over weekend viewership. It also provides the option to strategically position events opposite rival promotions like AEW.
The Observer notes that WWE executives are aware of AEW’s PPV calendar and are willing to shift the Elimination Chamber date if necessary to maximize visibility and audience engagement.
WWE’s 2026 premium live event calendar already includes several key milestones leading into WrestleMania. The Royal Rumble is locked in for January 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, while Survivor Series 2025 will take place on November 29 in San Diego. Additionally, John Cena’s highly anticipated retirement match is set for the December 13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.
With Chicago’s reputation for passionate wrestling fans and the Road to WrestleMania nearing its peak, the Elimination Chamber event is expected to be one of WWE’s most pivotal shows of early 2026. Whether it remains on February 28 or shifts slightly to compete with AEW remains to be seen.
