Current Creative Plans for 2025 Survivor Series and SNME – According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has several major matches already lined up for the coming months, including the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event and the road to Survivor Series: WarGames.
Dave Meltzer reports that WWE is planning for Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship to headline the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event special on November 1 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The show will also feature Tiffany Stratton defending the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill, and Drew McIntyre taking on Jacob Fatu in a singles match, with the winner earning a future WWE Championship opportunity against Cody Rhodes. Meltzer noted that Cargill is expected to win her match against Stratton, as the two have yet to fully click in their encounters so far.
“Currently three matches are scheduled, with Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk as the headliner for the world title. The other matches listed are Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill for the women’s title. I think after all the recent booking that Cargill has to win here, because there’s no point to this match otherwise. Stratton has beaten her and it’s a tough match-up because thus far neither has made the other look as good as they’ve looked with other opponents. Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu is listed as a match where the winner would get a shot at Cody Rhodes for the world title.”
For Survivor Series: WarGames, which takes place on November 29 in San Diego, WWE is currently planning for Rhodes to defend his WWE Championship against the McIntyre vs. Fatu winner—most likely McIntyre, according to Meltzer. Another major title bout being discussed for the event is John Cena challenging Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship.
Regarding the two WarGames matches, Meltzer reports that the men’s match will likely feature CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu, and Jey Uso teaming with either Jimmy Uso or LA Knight against a heel team led by Seth Rollins, joined by Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar, and Austin Theory.
The women’s WarGames lineup is equally star-studded, with AJ Lee, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and Iyo Sky facing Becky Lynch, Asuka, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend.
“The War Games plans as of one week ago was a men’s match with Punk & Roman Reigns & Jacob Fatu & Jey Uso along with a fifth man, not yet decided but Jimmy Uso and LA Knight are the two candidates, against a heel team of Rollins & Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed & Brock Lesnar & Austin Theory.
The women’s War Games match at this point is listed to be AJ Lee & Rhea Ripley & Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss & Iyo Sky vs. Becky Lynch & Asuka & Kairi Sane & Nia Jax & Lash Legend.”
Theory’s inclusion in WarGames is particularly notable, as he has been out of action since July due to injury. Meltzer suggested that WWE’s creative direction could see him joining The Vision, the new heel faction featuring Rollins, Breakker, Reed, and Paul Heyman.
With multiple major storylines converging across both shows, November is shaping up to be one of WWE’s busiest and most storyline-heavy months of the year.
