Roman Reigns Reportedly Set for WarGames Match at WWE Survivor Series – Roman Reigns’ next major match following his return to WWE could take place inside the unforgiving WarGames structure. According to a new report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the current plan calls for “The Tribal Chief” to compete in the WarGames match at Survivor Series rather than a standard singles bout. The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 29, in San Diego, California.
Meltzer stated, “I think Roman’s definitely doing the San Diego show, but he’s not in a singles match in San Diego, he’s in the WarGames, unless they change.” He also noted that fans shouldn’t expect the long-anticipated singles showdown between Reigns and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins until at least WrestleMania 42. “There’s no Roman Reigns/Seth Rollins match before at the earliest January, and I doubt January because I’m sure they’ll both be in the Rumble. So, I think it’s probably WrestleMania as a guess,” Meltzer said.
The report aligns with the ongoing storyline between The Bloodline and The Vision, a rivalry that began at WrestleMania 41. At that event, Seth Rollins defeated Reigns and CM Punk after Paul Heyman betrayed Reigns to side with Rollins. The attack from Rollins and his new ally Bron Breakker wrote Reigns off television for several months. He later returned on the July 14 episode of RAW, rescuing CM Punk and Jey Uso from Breakker and Bronson Reed, setting up a tag team victory at SummerSlam.
After being attacked again by The Vision at Clash in Paris, Reigns was written off once more to film the Street Fighter movie. With his recent comeback, The Bloodline—now united with The Usos—finds itself in direct conflict with The Vision, consisting of Rollins, Breakker, and Reed. The situation appears tailor-made for a five-on-five WarGames match at Survivor Series.
Before that showdown, Reigns will first face Bronson Reed in a Street Fight at WWE Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, on October 11.
