Bronson Reed Recalls Using Death Grips Track as Entrance Music, Says Triple H Was Not a Fan – During a recent interview on AFL Today, Bronson Reed looked back on his time on the independent wrestling scene and the entrance music that became a trademark of that era in his career.
Before joining WWE, Reed would often enter to “Guillotine,” a 2011 track from experimental hip-hop group Death Grips. Reed explained that music and presentation were vital to him as a performer, and that particular track still holds a special place in his memories.
“Those things are important,” Reed said about the role of theme music and entrances. “When you come out for your entrance, it sets the tone, so I always wanted something that was distinctive. I have that with WWE, it’s obviously a bigger scale and budget. They like to do their own in-house music, but I do miss my old music sometimes.”
Reed went on to reveal that Paul “Triple H” Levesque wasn’t especially impressed when he played “Guillotine” for him.
“Well, the thing is, this is going to expose my boss, but he’s a good dude,” Reed said. “I once showed ‘Guillotine’ to Triple H and he was not a fan. I think maybe he didn’t listen to it in the right atmosphere. You know, listening to something on your phone and then hearing some crazy man start rambling. I’m like, if you heard it in an arena with the bass and the treble and stuff, then you would understand it works. But yeah, he was not a fan of ‘Guillotine.’”
Reed is unlikely to revisit that song on WWE programming anytime soon, but it remains a meaningful part of his career journey.
Reed’s most recent WWE appearance came on this week’s RAW from the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. Teaming with Bron Breakker, he fell short against The Usos in a Tornado Tag rematch of their clash at WWE WrestlePalooza on September 20 in Indianapolis.
After the match, Roman Reigns made a surprise return, confronting Reed and Breakker. Reigns had been sidelined weeks earlier after a brutal attack from the two, but he returned to deliver retribution, reinforcing his position as “The Tribal Chief.”
