Backstage Concern in WWE Over Breakker & Reed Receiving Babyface Reactions – There were reportedly internal discussions within WWE regarding how the crowd might react to Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed following their attack on Seth Rollins two weeks ago on RAW. According to a report citing internal sources, company officials expressed concern that both Superstars might receive unintended cheers from fans despite being positioned as heels under Paul Heyman’s guidance.
The concern reportedly centered on Breakker and Reed’s growing popularity with certain segments of the audience, which could have undermined their current storyline alignment. WWE officials were said to be worried that instead of drawing boos, the duo’s aggressive style and intensity might lead to positive reactions, confusing the intended dynamic of the angle.
This internal concern apparently led to a change in creative plans for last week’s episode of RAW. The source noted that the potential for unintended babyface reactions “played into the decision to exclude them from the Battle Royal on #WWERaw last week.” The match was designed to determine who would advance to face CM Punk for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Jey Uso went on to win the Battle Royal, securing the title match against Punk. The World Heavyweight Championship had been vacated after Seth Rollins sustained a major shoulder injury at Crown Jewel, forcing him to step away from in-ring competition for an extended period.
At this time, it remains unclear what WWE’s next creative plans are for Breakker and Reed. However, the decision to keep them off television during a key storyline reportedly reflects WWE’s effort to maintain fan perception of their heel alignment moving forward.
