Bryan Danielson Joins AEW Dynamite Commentary Team Full-Time – Bryan Danielson has officially taken on a new full-time role with AEW. Starting this Wednesday, September 10, he will join the commentary team for AEW Dynamite on a permanent basis.
The news was announced earlier today by AEW President Tony Khan on X/Twitter, though it remains unclear whether Danielson will be added to the existing trio of Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone, or if adjustments will be made to the booth.
Danielson’s move to commentary comes after he received strong praise for his work during AEW & NJPW’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view earlier this year. His transition to the broadcast desk follows his decision to step back from full-time in-ring competition last October, when he dropped the AEW World Championship. At 44 years old, Danielson still makes occasional appearances on AEW programming and contributes behind the scenes, but he has made it clear that he feels satisfied with what he has accomplished in his wrestling career.
Speaking during a recent media tour to promote AEW’s 2026 return to Australia, Danielson reflected on his decision to slow down his in-ring career. “With the last six months of my wrestling career being in as much pain as I was, that put me in this thing of ‘I think I’m ready to be done,’” he said. “I’m very fulfilled by my career, very fulfilled by my life right now, and I still get to stay involved with professional wrestling which is something I love to this day.”
Danielson’s commentary debut as a full-time member of the team will take place this Wednesday at Philadelphia’s historic 2300 Arena, formerly known as the ECW Arena. The broadcast also marks AEW’s final week of residency at the venue, adding another layer of significance to the show.
