We are live from from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, as new NXT Champion, Ricky Saints, makes his way to the ring to start the show.

Ricky thanks the fans.  He says he said every giant needed to rest and he did that when he put Oba down.  He says you have been with him since day one.  On February 8th, he stood in the ring and said reality was him main eventing every PLE.  Reality is winning the title.  Reality is standing here in front of y’all.  He says it has not been an easy journey.  People asked could he do it.  Ricky asks if he did it.  If there is one thing he is going to do, he stands on business.  He put the chips on the line and bet on himself.  He walked out of Fort Lauderdale as the world champion.  The only person you have to worry about and bet on is yourself.

Jacy Jayne interrupts and she congratulates Ricky.  She says as happy as she is for him, they have bigger things to worry about.  TNA is trying to take over NXT, even though they have both of their titles.  She would be upset as well.  Nobody likes to talk about themselves . . .

Ava interrupts and she says that Jacy took the words out of her mouth.

She says they have more important things to worry about.  Both of you are the team captains for NXT.  That means you both have the task of deciding who will be on your team.  She tells them to put their pride and differences aside.  She says she needs the best team.  She needs the best men and the best women.

Santino Marella interrupts.

He tells Ava that is a great idea.  He will let his captains choose the teams.  He will not have Tricky be his captain because how can you trust someone named Tricky.  Santino says his men’s captain is Mike Santana.  The women’s captain is someone from NXT he trusts.  His women’s captain is Kelani Jordan.

Ava says they need the teams finalized by the end of the night.

Santino says this isn’t an invasion.  They have been working together.  This is a showcase, no a showdown.  He says he will see them at the summit.

9/30 NXT Preview

Tonight’s edition of WWE NXT features the continuation of a heated rivalry as Lash Legend returns to televised competition for the first time since her victory over Jaida Parker on September 2. The two will meet in the ring once again following escalating tensions, most recently at NXT No Mercy, where Legend cost Parker a chance to capture the WWE Women’s Speed Championship from Sol Ruca. The conflict intensified later that night when Legend publicly called out Parker, leading to a backstage brawl.

Also stemming from No Mercy, NXT General Manager Ava announced a major crossover event with TNA Wrestling titled Invasion, scheduled for October 7. The special will feature a Men’s Ten-Man Tag Team Elimination Match and a Women’s Ten-Woman Tag Team Elimination Match, designed to settle the growing animosity between the two brands. Ava and TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella are expected to reveal the official team lineups in the coming days.

While no additional matches have been confirmed for tonight’s show, No Mercy delivered several pivotal outcomes. Ricky Saints ended Oba Femi’s 263-day reign as NXT Champion, while Jacy Jayne and Ethan Page successfully retained their respective Women’s and North American Championships against Lola Vice and Tavion Heights. In other action, Jordynne Grace defeated Blake Monroe in a brutal Weaponized Steel Cage Match, and Je’Von Evans secured a win over Josh Briggs.
