WWE Talent Reportedly in Favor of Reduced House Show Schedule

WWE Talent Reportedly in Favor of Reduced House Show Schedule – A new report has shed light on how WWE talent feels about the company’s reduced non-televised live event schedule, and the feedback appears to be overwhelmingly positive. According to Fightful Select, multiple wrestlers currently on WWE’s European tour expressed that they “much prefer the current schedule.”

One longtime performer stated, “I don’t miss house shows at all. They’re fun to wrestle on, but the current method is much better. It makes sense that they still do them here and there, and it makes them much more special.” Another wrestler noted that having the number of live events cut by nearly two-thirds has made them far more “enjoyable to work.”

The decision to scale back the domestic house show schedule was reportedly tied to several factors, including costs, scheduling logistics, and prioritizing talent health. WWE has only run 15 main roster house shows through August of this year, a drastic reduction from nearly 50 during the same timeframe in 2023.

A WWE higher-up told Fightful there are currently no plans to expand the live event schedule domestically. However, international tours remain a consistent priority, as they continue to generate strong business.

Additionally, the reduced number of dates has reportedly aided in contract negotiations, with talent benefitting from fewer commitments on the calendar. The streamlined approach appears to be a win-win situation, keeping talent healthier while still allowing WWE to maximize business opportunities overseas.
