Seth Rollins Spotted on Crutches at WWE Evolution – New details have emerged following Seth Rollins’ apparent knee injury suffered during his match against LA Knight at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12, and the situation is becoming clearer—though not without conflicting accounts.
According to a new report from Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, Rollins was spotted backstage at WWE Evolution on crutches and wearing a knee brace, further suggesting that the injury is indeed legitimate. Sapp noted that Rollins’ condition “looked bad” immediately after the incident, which saw him collapse following a missed quebrada during the match. Medical staff tended to Rollins, and the contest was quickly wrapped up with Knight picking up the win after a BFT.
The aftermath of the apparent injury led to major last-minute rewrites for the final 40 minutes of the Saturday Night’s Main Event broadcast on NBC and Peacock. Multiple sources backstage confirmed that original plans were scrapped and adjustments were made on-the-fly due to Rollins’ condition.
However, there is still some skepticism within the wrestling industry. As previously reported, Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer shared that a highly trusted source cautioned him against treating the injury as fully legitimate. According to that source, word of the injury was already circulating as early as Thursday, raising questions about whether the incident may have been worked or at least partially dramatized.
Meltzer clarified that while most people backstage are treating it as real, the trusted source advised, “Don’t go so strong on the idea that it’s real at all.”
Regardless, Rollins’ appearance on crutches at WWE Evolution has only added fuel to the speculation. Until WWE or Rollins himself issues an official statement, fans and analysts will continue to debate the nature of the injury.
