Dominik Mysterio Cleared for SummerSlam After Sneak Attack on AJ Styles – The July 21 edition of RAW added another layer to the ongoing saga between Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio and AJ Styles. Throughout the night, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce was seen pressuring Mysterio to visit the backstage doctor and get medically cleared ahead of SummerSlam.
Initially avoiding the request, Mysterio’s hesitation forced Pearce to escalate matters. Pearce ultimately threatened to strip Mysterio of the Intercontinental Title if he didn’t comply. That warning got through to ‘Dirty Dom,’ who finally agreed to undergo the medical evaluation.
Later in the show, Pearce and AJ Styles approached the doctor to confirm Mysterio’s condition. That’s when Mysterio struck, blindsiding Styles with a sneak attack. With ‘The Phenomenal One’ laid out, Mysterio smugly declared that he had been cleared and promised to see Styles at SummerSlam.
