According to a new report from PWInsider, Santana received “high marks” from NXT officials after his initial appearances, and the internal buzz only intensified after his match against Williams. Sources noted that NXT leadership has once again begun internal discussions regarding Santana’s future potential within WWE.
While the interest is legitimate, any immediate move is unlikely due to Santana’s current contractual obligations. He remains under contract with TNA through the end of 2025, making him ineligible to sign with WWE until at least early 2026, barring an unexpected agreement between the two companies.
Santana’s growing momentum has also been felt outside of TNA. He recently gave what many viewed as a farewell speech at House of Glory (HOG)—an independent promotion where he has been a featured performer for several years. His departure from HOG further fueled speculation about his next career steps.
This potential recruitment effort comes at a time when WWE has expanded its talent acquisition strategy, especially following its official acquisition of AAA in April 2025. The company has placed greater focus on blending established stars from other promotions into its developmental system, and Santana’s experience, charisma, and hard-hitting style seem to fit that mold.
