Kofi Kingston Warns Fans: “Don’t Tell Me I Suck in Public”– WWE Superstar Kofi Kingston recently addressed fan behavior in public spaces, laying out a clear list of boundaries during an appearance on Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez. While most wrestlers understand the nature of fan interactions, Kingston emphasized that there’s a line that shouldn’t be crossed — especially when it comes to disrespect.
When asked about a list of “don’ts” for fans, Kingston didn’t hesitate to share his thoughts.
“Don’t talk to me. Don’t think that because you bought a ticket you have the right to shake my hand,” Kingston said. “Don’t come up to me and say, ‘Well, I bought a ticket to the show, so I should be able to get a picture,’ and that I’m obligated to come over to you. That is not true. I don’t have to do that.”
Kingston was especially critical of fans who confront wrestlers during personal or private moments, including travel days or early mornings.
“Do not come over and try to take a picture with me early in the morning when I’m trying to go to work. If I’m sitting in first class, when you are on your way to last class, don’t sit there with your camera and do a thumbs down so you can get a little viral moment and go tweet that stuff out.”
He also had strong words for those who support online negativity.
“Then don’t like the pictures and posts when people share disrespectful pics like that. You perpetuate that. You perpetuate the negativity,” Kingston said.
The former WWE Champion made it clear that trash talk in real life crosses a line.
“If I’m going about my everyday life, going to work or hanging with my family, I don’t need you to tell me how much I suck,” he said. “Because look here.” (gesturing to his title belt) “You see this? That means I don’t suck. So don’t come across as a liar when you tell me that I do.”
Kofi wrapped up his point with a reminder of his current success.
“I’m on top of the mountain with my boy, Xavier Woods — one half of the WWE World Tag Team Champions. We are your boys, The New Day.”
