WWE ID Championship Tournaments Begin – WrestleMania 41 week is officially underway in Las Vegas, and one of the first events to jumpstart the festivities was the opening round of the inaugural WWE ID Championship tournaments, held Wednesday night at The Palms and presented in partnership with GCW.
The tournament series, aimed at spotlighting up-and-coming talent, saw the women’s competition begin with Kylie Rae scoring a win over Zayda Steel in the night’s opening bout, advancing to the next round of the WWE ID Women’s Championship bracket.
The rest of the night was packed with four first-round matches from the men’s side of the WWE ID Championship tournament. Jordan Oasis emerged victorious over Freedom Ramsey, while It’s GAL picked up a win against Aaron Rourke. Ice Williams advanced following a triple threat win over Aaron Roberts and GCW mainstay Atticus Cogar. The final first-round men’s match of the evening saw Marcus Mathers defeat Sam Holloway in a no disqualification bout to punch his ticket to the next round.
In addition to the tournament matches, two non-tournament bouts were featured on the card. Zara Zakher scored a win over Izzy Moreno, while Jackson Drake & Swipe Right (Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes) defeated the trio of Cappuccino Jones, Jack Cartwright, and Sean Legacy in six-man tag team action.
The tournament action will continue Friday night, when Future Stars of Wrestling hosts the next round live at 11:30 PM ET / 8:30 PM PT on Triller+.
