Chris Jericho Loses a Tooth at AEW Dynasty – Chris Jericho not only lost the Ring of Honor World Championship at AEW Dynasty, but also walked away with a physical reminder of the battle—missing a tooth.
The AEW Dynasty pay-per-view, held at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, featured a high-stakes Title vs. Mask match between Jericho and Bandido. The contest had personal weight for Bandido, who not only aimed to regain the championship he never officially lost but was also fighting in honor of his brother, Gravity.
In a dramatic finish, Jericho initially appeared to have secured the win after striking Bandido with a baseball bat behind the referee’s back and scoring the pinfall. However, Bandido’s family, seated ringside, alerted referee Aubrey Edwards to the foul play. Following a brief conference with referee Bryce Remsburg, the match was restarted. Bandido wasted no time, landing a flurry of moves that ended with his signature 21-Plex to score the legitimate victory.
After the match, Bandido celebrated his championship win with his family in the ring, preserving both his mask and his legacy.
While the victory was a triumph for Bandido, Jericho experienced a painful loss beyond the result. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Jericho lost a tooth during the contest.
Bryan Alvarez stated, “Apparently, what was not a happy ending was Jericho, in fact, did lose a tooth.” Dave Meltzer confirmed, “He did. They talked about it during the match.” Alvarez added, “Yeah, it actually happened. Sometimes they say that, but… the guy does a spit spot, and they go, ‘Oh, my God, he lost a tooth.’ This guy actually lost a tooth. So that sucks.”
This marks the end of Jericho’s second reign as ROH World Champion, while Bandido begins a new chapter with the title he once held but never lost in competition.
