WWE Releases Giovanni Vinci, Isla Dawn, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson – The wave of WWE releases continued with the departures of Giovanni Vinci, Isla Dawn, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson. They join a growing list of talent who have been let go, including Cedric Alexander, AOP (Rezar and Akam), Paul Ellering, Blair Davenport, and Sonya Deville, whose contract will not be renewed when it expires later this month.
Gallows and Anderson have had multiple runs with WWE. They first signed in 2016, capturing the RAW Tag Team Championships twice before being released in 2020. The duo returned in 2022, reuniting with AJ Styles as part of The O.C. Most recently, they had been competing in NXT. Anderson has been out of action since November due to a torn rotator cuff tendon and a partially torn labrum.
Giovanni Vinci originally made his mark in NXT as a member of Imperium alongside Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser. However, his role in the faction diminished, and he transitioned into singles competition, though he had not been prominently featured on television in recent months.
Isla Dawn was also among those released and has a 90-day non-compete clause before she can wrestle elsewhere. She first gained attention in NXT UK with standout matches against Meiko Satomura and Kay Lee Ray. After moving to NXT in 2022, she formed The Unholy Union with Alba Fyre. Together, they won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship before being drafted to SmackDown in 2023. In June 2024, they captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at Clash at the Castle in Scotland but lost the titles later that year before quietly disbanding.
With these latest cuts, WWE’s roster continues to undergo changes under Triple H’s leadership.
