WWE Reportedly Planning NXT Taping in New York City – WWE is looking to bring NXT to New York City for a taping in March.
The January 28 episode of NXT was held at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia, and the brand is set to hit the road again in February for a special show in Cincinnati. Now, a new report suggests WWE wants to bring NXT to The Theater at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, March 11.
According to PWInsider, WWE is actively working to secure the venue for an NXT taping, which would take place the day after RAW at Madison Square Garden. The Theater has hosted numerous wrestling events over the years, but if the plan goes through, it would mark the first time WWE broadcasts NXT from the venue. Additionally, Johnson reports that there have been discussions about holding an NXT taping in Nashville as well.
Update on NXT’s Travel Schedule
NXT has been running select tapings outside of the WWE Performance Center since October, and many have wondered whether this trend will continue.
According to Fightful Select, NXT sources have confirmed that WWE intends to hold two NXT tapings on the road each month, while the remaining episodes will be taped at the Performance Center. It is unclear if this format will become a permanent fixture, but sources noted that more NXT dates outside of Florida are being considered.
