Update on The Rock vs Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 – The Rock made a surprise appearance on the WWE RAW on Netflix premiere episode, stepping away from his dominant Final Boss persona. Instead, he delivered a babyface promo praising the company’s achievements and shared a notable embrace with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Originally, WWE had discussed The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes as a potential main event for WrestleMania 41, but following RAW, it appears that idea has been shelved. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “Rock vs. Rhodes, the originally planned main event for this year’s Mania, is not happening.” Meltzer also noted that while the idea of Rock vs. Roman Reigns isn’t in current plans, it is “not dead” and could happen down the line.
As previously reported, The Rock does not have plans to wrestle at this year’s WrestleMania. However, his involvement remains flexible, as it is ultimately his decision if and when he wants to return to the ring. WWE is now reportedly focusing on a Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena showdown for WrestleMania 41’s main event.
The Rock’s RAW appearance, characterized by respect rather than confrontation, has left fans speculating about his future in WWE. While no match is currently set for him, his connection with Cody Rhodes and lingering possibilities with Roman Reigns continue to spark intrigue. WrestleMania season often brings surprises, leaving the door open for unexpected twists.
