In addition to his win, Copeland introduced a new moniker, officially branding himself as “The Rated R Superstar” Cope.
The match concluded with a dramatic finish. Cope delivered a thunderous spear to Wheeler Yuta, capitalizing after FTR set Yuta up with the Shatter Machine. Before the final sequence, Jay White made a surprise appearance, hitting Yuta with the Blade Runner to pave the way for Cope’s decisive moment.
The action didn’t stop there. Cope neutralized Jon Moxley by backdropping him onto the announce table and following up with a spear through the barricade, igniting the crowd in Asheville, North Carolina.
This marked Cope’s first match since AEW Double or Nothing, where he suffered a leg injury during a high-risk maneuver off the cage, putting Malakai Black through a table. After months on the sidelines, Cope made his return to television at AEW Worlds End, setting the stage for his comeback bout.
