Bret Hart Shares Thoughts on WWE Return at Raw Season Premiere – While they may not have been the closest during their active wrestling careers, Bret “The Hitman” Hart seems to have developed a mutual respect for WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H. In a WWE digital exclusive released on Thursday, Hart reflected on his return to WWE television during the “Season Premiere” of Monday Night Raw on September 9, held at the Scotiabank Saddledome in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Hart expressed his gratitude for being invited to appear, sharing, “I didn’t just assume or take for granted that they were going to invite me down.” He added that any chance to perform in front of Calgary fans holds special meaning for him, as many of them have followed his career since the beginning. “It’s a very special and powerful building for me to walk in. A lot of great memories here, a lot of title matches. Even in the old Stampede Wrestling days, a lot of memories here.”
The WWE Hall of Famer also described the emotional experience of walking down to the ring again in front of his hometown crowd. “It’s kind of a funny feeling to walk down the ring slowly and kind of pull yourself back into the ring and find yourself standing in the center of it and talking to the fans,” Hart said. He admitted he may have appeared a bit nervous at first but quickly felt a transformation into his iconic persona, “The Hitman,” adding, “It was something that was magical that was brought out by the love of the fans.”
In his interaction with Triple H behind the scenes, Hart spoke warmly of their encounter. “There’s not that many from my generation that are around anymore,” Hart noted. “Running into Triple H is always a pleasure.” This marks a significant moment in their relationship, as the two WWE legends seem to have found common ground and mutual respect over the years, despite their complicated history.
