Following his explosive main roster debut on the November 2 episode of WWE RAW, NXT Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels took to social media to celebrate Cruz Montana’s jump to the main roster.
Montana stunned the Barclays Center crowd in Brooklyn by revealing himself as the masked attacker aligning with The 946, throwing a steel chair directly into Roman Reigns’ face before planting the World Heavyweight Champion with a Spin the Block to wipe out The Bloodline.
Shawn Michaels Praises NXT Pipeline Success
Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Michaels shared the video clip of Montana’s surprise ambush, pointing to the ongoing success of NXT’s developmental system:
“Another one moving on up! Congratulations to @Montana_NYPR on making the jump to the main roster! That’s 19 NXT Superstars making the leap to Raw and SmackDown in the last 12 months. Pretty proud of that number, but even prouder of the talent and crew who make it happen. Keep showing the world what #WWENXT is all about! See the future of WWE this week on Wednesday night at 8/7c on @TheCW and the @espn Unlimited app!”
Wednesday Schedule Shift And Unsanctioned Match Details
As noted by Michaels, this week’s episode of WWE NXT will air on Wednesday night instead of its standard Tuesday slot due to national US midterm election coverage.
The special night puts NXT head-to-head against AEW’s Dynamite: Blood & Guts broadcast. Despite his main roster call-up and heel turn on RAW, Montana is still advertised to appear on Wednesday’s show to compete in a previously scheduled unsanctioned match against Dion Lennox, with UFC star Michael Chandler set to oversee the action.
