A massive confrontation has been officially confirmed for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide’s biggest show of the year. During Sunday’s broadcast of AAA Ola de Calor at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas, the AAA General Manager announced that Rey Mysterio will face Omos on night one of TripleMania 34.
The match is set for Friday, September 11, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, marking the first official bout announced for the event.
Unsanctioned Appearance Triggers Ringside Brawl
The tension escalated when Omos appeared at ringside despite serving an indefinite suspension from the promotion. The giant’s presence immediately drew out Mysterio, sparking a wild brawl outside the ring before officials restored order.
Following the brawl, Mysterio issued a major ultimatum to wrap up the storyline. If Omos defeats Mysterio, his indefinite suspension will be lifted and he will be fully reinstated into the AAA roster. However, should Mysterio emerge victorious, Omos will be banned from the promotion forever.
Fallout From August Attack
The feud traces back to the August 22 edition of AAA on Fox, where Omos’ contest against Galeno ended in a chaotic no-contest. Following the bell, Omos launched an unprovoked attack on Mysterio, prompting AAA management to issue the indefinite suspension that fueled Sunday’s surprise appearance.
With high stakes attached to the outcome in Las Vegas, the bout serves as a primary feature for night one of AAA’s flagship spectacle.
