Tommy Dreamer has shared his reaction to Oba Femi’s performance on WWE RAW, highlighting how the rising star rebounded after a loss at Clash in Italy.
Femi entered the June 1 episode of RAW coming off a defeat to Brock Lesnar the night before. The loss raised questions about how he would be presented next, especially in a company where momentum can shift quickly. Dreamer admitted that his first impression of Femi on RAW gave him concern.
“Oba did not have that confidence in his strut tonight. Oba looked like he was a man who lost, and I was so like ‘No, please don’t tell me you’re de-pushing this guy!’”
That early reaction reflected a common pattern in WWE, where a high-profile loss can sometimes signal a step back. However, Dreamer said his view changed as the match progressed.
Femi competed in a Fatal 4-Way against Solo Sikoa, Penta, and Carmelo Hayes. According to Dreamer, the level of competition helped bring out the best in Femi and allowed him to regain his presence.
“Then, working with Solo, Penta, and Carmelo Hayes — three freaking amazing professional wrestlers — they all went there and did their job and got Oba back to that where Oba should be. Then, his intensity and what makes Oba special came about in the ring through his work.”
Dreamer emphasized that Femi did more than recover. He delivered a performance that re-established his position.
“Oba came back from a loss with a dominant, dominant performance.”
The win secured Femi a place in the King of the Ring semifinals. He now moves one step closer to the tournament finals, which are set to take place at Night of Champions on June 27. The winner of the tournament will earn a world title opportunity at SummerSlam.
Femi’s showing on RAW served as a clear response following his Clash in Italy loss, reinforcing his standing as one of WWE’s rising talents.
