A title match between Rhea Ripley and Jacy Jayne has been pitched internally for SummerSlam, which is scheduled to take place in Minneapolis. While WWE has not officially confirmed the bout, discussions are ongoing as the company begins building the card for one of its biggest events of the year.
The proposed match comes shortly after Ripley’s successful title defense against Jade Cargill at WWE Clash in Italy on May 31. That bout saw Ripley overcome multiple obstacles, including interference from B-Fab and Michin. Charlotte Flair later got involved to neutralize the situation, allowing Ripley to regain control. She ultimately secured the win with another Riptide, leaving Italy still holding the WWE Women’s Championship.
Jacy Jayne presents a different type of challenge for Ripley, and there is already a foundation in place between the two. They have crossed paths multiple times throughout 2026 and even competed against each other earlier in the year. That existing history gives WWE a clear path to build a story if the SummerSlam match is finalized.
The potential matchup would also mark a shift away from Ripley’s recent program with Cargill, offering a fresh title defense on a major stage. For Jayne, it would represent one of the biggest opportunities of her career, placing her in a high-profile singles match at a premium live event.
