
The first official trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter movie was released on Thursday, April 16, showcasing a cast that includes WWE stars Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns in prominent roles.
Rhodes appears as Guile, while Reigns takes on the role of Akuma in the live-action adaptation produced by Legendary Pictures in collaboration with Capcom. The film is set to hit theaters on October 16, 2026, and will be distributed through a global deal with Paramount Pictures. It has also been filmed for IMAX presentation.
The trailer also features Hirooki Goto portraying E. Honda, adding another wrestling name to the cast.
According to the official synopsis, the story is set in 1993 and centers around Ryu and Ken Masters. The two are drawn back into action when Chun-Li recruits them for the World Warrior Tournament. The competition is described as a brutal event, but it is tied to a larger conspiracy that forces the characters to confront each other and their pasts.
The film features a large ensemble cast. Noah Centineo plays Ken Masters, while Andrew Koji takes on the role of Ryu. Callina Liang appears as Chun-Li, and Joe Anoa’i (Roman Reigns) portrays Akuma. David Dastmalchian plays M. Bison, and Cody Rhodes appears as Guile. Andrew Schulz takes on the role of Dan Hibiki, Eric André plays Don Sauvage, and Vidyut Jammwal portrays Dhalsim.
Additional casting includes Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, and Alexander Volkanovski as Joe.
The film is directed by Kitao Sakurai and produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jason Momoa, Takayuki Nakayama, and Stefan Makhoul.
With its mix of major Hollywood names and professional wrestling stars, the Street Fighter adaptation is set to bring a wide range of talent together when it arrives in theaters this October.
