Cody Rhodes escalated his rivalry with Pat McAfee in a dramatic way, appearing at McAfee’s studio and destroying parts of the set just days before WrestleMania 42.
During The Pat McAfee Show, McAfee revealed security footage showing Rhodes entering the Thunderdome-style studio and attacking the setup with a baseball bat. The footage captured Rhodes damaging equipment, including a computer, before retrieving the Undisputed WWE Championship and leaving the scene.
McAfee addressed the incident at the start of the show, making his reaction clear.
“A person whose self-proclaimed name is the American Nightmare, is just that. He’s a criminal. Last night, obviously, something devastating happened to our entire Thunderdome.”
The footage then aired, showing Rhodes walking into the studio, striking parts of the set, and taking back possession of the title belt.
McAfee continued to describe the situation, pointing out the damage caused during the incident.
“And on his way out, while DaBone is doing nothing yet again, he spikes my computer, my only computer. So Cody just walks out, no problem. Then he goes on Instagram and posts a video of himself leaving, playing my song while boarding a plane.”
The segment adds another layer to the ongoing storyline involving Rhodes, Randy Orton, and McAfee. Rhodes’ actions send a direct message ahead of his Undisputed WWE Championship defense against Orton at WrestleMania 42.
McAfee is set to be in Orton’s corner for the match, having previously been revealed as the person Orton had been communicating with in recent weeks. He has also been part of the narrative surrounding WrestleMania ticket sales, placing blame on Rhodes during recent appearances.
