Matthew Rehwoldt Announces In-Ring Return Interest, Opens Door for Bookings

Matthew Rehwoldt, known to WWE fans as Aiden English, has revealed that he is interested in stepping back into the ring and is now open for bookings.

Rehwoldt shared the update on social media, making it clear that his motivation is rooted in both passion and a desire to contribute to the next generation.

“Book me,” Rehwoldt wrote. “I’m inspired to wrestle again. I want to have fun. I want to share things I know with up-and-coming talent. I want to try things. Let’s do this.”

Along with the message, he included his booking email and a photo, signaling that he is serious about returning to in-ring competition after focusing primarily on commentary in recent years.

Rehwoldt has been a key part of TNA’s broadcast team since 2022, working alongside Tom Hannifan. The duo signed contract extensions in August 2025 and have remained a consistent presence through the company’s recent transitions, including its move to AMC. Rehwoldt originally joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2021 as a wrestler before shifting into the commentary role in early 2022, replacing D’Lo Brown.

Despite his renewed interest in wrestling, Rehwoldt has previously spoken about how much he values his role behind the microphone.

“Sitting behind this microphone, I think, will be my lasting legacy in this business. I think it is my true superpower,” Rehwoldt said in a recent interview. “My superpower is making people excited about the things that excite me.”

Before joining TNA, Rehwoldt spent several years in WWE from 2012 to 2020. During that run, he competed on both NXT and SmackDown, gaining recognition as part of The Vaudevillains alongside Simon Gotch, where the team captured the NXT Tag Team Championship. He later found widespread popularity with his “Drama King” persona and his partnership with Rusev during the “Rusev Day” storyline in 2018.

With his announcement, Rehwoldt has now opened the door to a potential return to the ring while continuing his established role as one of TNA’s lead commentators.
