Oba Femi believes a match against Brock Lesnar could happen in the near future as speculation continues about Lesnar’s opponent for WrestleMania 42.
It was recently announced that Lesnar will issue an open challenge at WrestleMania 42, and many fans have suggested that Femi could be the one to answer it. The former NXT Champion recently spoke with TV Insider and shared his thoughts about the possibility of facing the former UFC and WWE champion.
Femi praised Lesnar’s career and said stepping into the ring with him would be a major opportunity.
“What a run for him. He had two separate runs, and they’ve both been fantastic. It would be really cool to face him,” Femi said. “I know the fans have been asking for that match. It’s going to happen one day soon. What a run he has had the UFC champion, multiple time WWE champion, Royal Rumble winner, dominance. What a way to cap it off by facing ‘The Ruler.’”
The two competitors already shared a brief moment earlier this year during the 2026 Royal Rumble match. Femi and Lesnar had a short face-off during the bout, which created a strong reaction from the crowd.
Femi described that interaction as a preview of what could come in the future and a way to gauge fan interest in the potential matchup.
At this time, WWE has not officially announced who will answer Lesnar’s open challenge at WrestleMania 42. However, Lesnar is scheduled to appear on several upcoming episodes of WWE RAW as the event approaches. The final confirmed appearance currently listed is the March 16 episode in San Antonio.
While talk continues about a possible WrestleMania match with Lesnar, Femi is also preparing for another major bout on WWE RAW. He is scheduled to face Rusev on tonight’s show.
During the same interview, Femi also discussed the transition from NXT to the main roster and how he has adjusted to the change.
“There is a lot more traveling on the main roster. A way bigger audience and platform,” he said. “I’m glad that everything I was able to do over at NXT happened. I was able to translate to the main roster effortlessly, seamlessly. The crowd has been behind me. They know my schtick. They know what I do. ‘The Ruler’ is here to stay on the main roster.”
Femi’s confidence and recent momentum have made him one of the rising names on WWE RAW as the company continues its build toward WrestleMania 42.
