Rey Fenix Talks Potential Lucha Bros Reunion in WWE

Rey Fenix recently discussed the possibility of a Lucha Bros reunion in WWE and explained why he believes it is important for both him and his brother Penta to first establish themselves as singles competitors. Fans were introduced to Fenix on WWE television in March last year, not long after Penta joined the WWE main roster.

Since arriving, both stars have been working separate programs, which has delayed a potential reunion of the popular tag team. However, Rey Fenix made it clear that while he misses teaming with his brother, he believes their individual runs are important at this stage.

During a recent interview with RRBG Inc, Fenix spoke about the situation and how he views the opportunity to compete as a singles wrestler.

“I see it this way: it’s not bad. Obviously, I miss fighting with my brother, but it’s a good opportunity to show who we are individually,” Fenix said. “I’ve worked with Je’Von Evans, I’ve worked with Andrade when he was there, I’m working with Sami Zayn, I’ve worked with Rey (Mysterio) at recent AAA events. I think it’s a good opportunity for us as wrestlers and for the public to see something different.”

Fenix also acknowledged that many fans are waiting for the Lucha Bros to reunite, but he stressed that patience is important in professional wrestling.

“And believe me, they know that people are waiting for the Lucha Bros, and the Lucha Bros are waiting for the moment. But something that wrestling and this sport have taught me is patience. It’s going to be the right moment that the Lucha Bros deserve.”

He continued by saying that the reunion will happen when the timing makes the most sense.

“It’s not that we don’t deserve it and you don’t deserve to see the Lucha Bros today, but I know that when the moment gets there is the right moment, and it’s going to be the right moment.”

A reunion between the two nearly took place in late 2025 during an event in AAA. The Lucha Bros were originally scheduled to face Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano at AAA Guerra de Titanes. However, the match was changed after Penta suffered a shoulder injury the previous month and was not medically cleared to compete. As a result, Rey Mysterio stepped in as a replacement for the event.

For now, both Fenix and Penta continue to focus on their individual paths in WWE while fans wait for the moment when the Lucha Bros finally reunite.
