WrestleMania in Indianapolis Likely Years Away – WWE’s long-term strategy for bringing WrestleMania to Indianapolis is becoming more defined, even if the wait for fans in the city is expected to be a long one. While Indianapolis is firmly part of WWE’s future event plans, WrestleMania does not appear to be arriving anytime soon.
In 2024, WWE confirmed a significant partnership with the Indiana Sports Corporation designed to bring three of its biggest Premium Live Events to the state. The agreement includes WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam, signaling WWE’s confidence in Indianapolis as a major host city. That partnership officially began earlier this year when Lucas Oil Stadium hosted the 2025 Royal Rumble, marking a major milestone for the market.
Despite that momentum, current expectations suggest WrestleMania will not take place in Indianapolis until at least 2028. WWE already has other long-term commitments in place, which appear to limit flexibility in the company’s WrestleMania schedule over the next several years. As of now, Indianapolis is viewed as a future destination rather than an immediate priority.
WWE is scheduled to bring WrestleMania 42 to Las Vegas, continuing its relationship with the city after recent successful events there. WrestleMania 43, planned for 2027, is widely expected to take place in Saudi Arabia, which would mark the first time WrestleMania is held outside of North America. Those commitments effectively push Indianapolis further down the timeline.
WWE has continued to maintain a strong presence in the city in the meantime. Indianapolis hosted Wrestlepalooza last September, a move that was seen as part of WWE’s broader effort to strengthen ties with local officials and fans. That event helped reinforce the city’s role in WWE’s long-term planning, even without an immediate WrestleMania announcement.
There is also the possibility that Indianapolis could host SummerSlam in 2027. If that happens, WrestleMania would likely be delayed even further, potentially not arriving until 2029. WWE has adjusted major event plans in the past, including changing previously announced host cities, so timelines remain subject to change.
At present, WrestleMania is believed to be locked into four different host cities over the coming years. With those commitments in place, 2029 currently appears to be the most realistic target for Indianapolis. WWE has not yet announced official dates for WrestleMania or SummerSlam in the city.
