Update on Tiffany Stratton’s WWE Absence and Royal Rumble Status

Update on Tiffany Stratton’s WWE Absence and Royal Rumble Status – Speculation has continued to build around a possible return for former WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, with recent rumblings suggesting she could resurface this weekend at the Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Stratton has been absent from WWE television for several months, and her disappearance from programming has fueled ongoing questions about her status. A new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider has added further attention to the situation.

For a time, some believed Stratton’s absence was the result of a creative reset following her loss of the WWE Women’s Championship. However, additional reporting has clarified that this is not the case. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a physical setback is the main reason Stratton has been sidelined. Meltzer reported that Stratton has been dealing with an injury, though WWE has not publicly disclosed any details regarding the nature or severity of the issue.

Stratton’s time away from the ring began immediately after her championship loss to Jade Cargill at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1, 2025. That title change stood out at the time due to how brief the match was, lasting under six minutes. In hindsight, the short duration may have been influenced by the injury either occurring during the match or being aggravated while it was taking place. Since that night, Stratton has not wrestled on WWE television, leaving SmackDown’s women’s division without one of its most prominent stars from 2025.

Throughout much of last year, Stratton was positioned as a central figure on SmackDown. Her rise included winning the Money in the Bank briefcase and successfully cashing it in to capture the WWE Women’s Championship. Her sudden absence following such a strong run made her situation even more noticeable, especially as WrestleMania season approached.

Despite being out of action, Stratton has remained visible through social media. She has continued to post photos and videos that tease her eventual return, keeping fan interest high and ensuring her name remains part of the conversation. Those posts have led many to speculate about when “Tiffy Time” might officially resume.

If the reports placing Stratton in Riyadh this weekend are accurate, her appearance in the Women’s Royal Rumble match would immediately change the landscape of the division. Given her recent championship history and momentum prior to the injury, she would likely be viewed as a serious contender. A Royal Rumble return would also put her in position to pursue Jade Cargill again or set her sights on whichever superstar holds the title coming out of the event.
