JBL in Talks for Full-Time Run With JCW – WWE Hall of Famer John “Bradshaw” Layfield could be preparing for a surprising return to regular in-ring competition, but not under the WWE banner. New reports indicate that JBL is in discussions to become a full-time performer for Juggalo Championship Wrestling, a promotion he has appeared for several times in recent years.
According to the Wrestling Observer, JCW is interested in bringing Layfield in as a recurring presence on its weekly television program. If an agreement is reached, it would mark JBL’s first full-time wrestling role since he stepped away from active competition following WrestleMania 25 in 2009. At that event, Layfield lost the Intercontinental Championship to Rey Mysterio, effectively closing the book on his regular WWE in-ring career.
In recent months, there have been several signs pointing toward a possible comeback. JBL returned to the ring in November 2025 at the WrestleCade SuperShow, where he competed for the first time in more than a decade. During the event, he won a Battle Royal, a moment that quickly fueled speculation about whether the appearance was a one-off or part of something larger. Prior to that, Layfield had made a notable appearance for JCW in October 2024, further linking him to the promotion.
Those rumors gained more traction when JBL shared footage from a visit to the Ohio Valley Wrestling training facility. During that visit, he worked alongside Jody Malenko and Al Snow and reportedly took his first bump in 16 years. The footage suggested that Layfield was testing himself physically and gauging whether a more consistent in-ring schedule was realistic.
Since retiring from full-time competition, JBL has remained connected to WWE through ambassador duties and occasional guest commentary appearances. He also made a brief in-ring return during the 2014 Royal Rumble match. Outside of wrestling, Layfield has stayed active in business ventures and charitable efforts, maintaining a high profile even without regular matches.
If JBL does commit to JCW on a full-time basis, it would represent a unique late-career chapter. JCW is known for its unconventional presentation and dedicated fanbase, making it a stark contrast to WWE’s global platform. For Layfield, the move would signal one final run in an environment far removed from the mainstream spotlight, but one that values personality and presence just as much as legacy.
