Four-Way Match Set to Determine Drew McIntyre’s Royal Rumble Challenger – At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on January 24, four top contenders will collide with a championship opportunity on the line, as Randy Orton, Trick Williams, Damian Priest, and Sami Zayn battle to determine who will challenge Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble.
The four-way match was finalized following the January 16 episode of WWE SmackDown, which featured four separate qualifying bouts spread throughout the night. Each competitor earned their place through decisive victories, setting the stage for a high-stakes main event-level showdown.
Randy Orton opened the show by securing the first qualifying spot. “The Viper” defeated The Miz in singles competition, ending the match in familiar fashion with a sudden RKO. The win marked another step forward for Orton as he continues his push back toward the top of the championship picture.
The second qualifier saw Trick Williams punch his ticket by defeating Matt Cardona. Williams finished the match with the Trick Shot knee, continuing his momentum and reinforcing his status as one of WWE’s rising stars. Later in the night, Williams would make an additional statement by attacking Sami Zayn after Zayn’s qualifying victory.
Damian Priest claimed the third spot by overcoming Solo Sikoa in a match that featured outside interference. Uncle Howdy appeared during the bout in an attempt to retrieve the stolen lantern tied to recent storylines. While Solo managed to recover the lantern, the distraction proved costly. As he re-entered the ring, Priest capitalized by planting Sikoa with South of Heaven to secure the win.
The final qualifying match saw Sami Zayn defeat Ilja Dragunov with the Helluva Kick. Zayn’s victory was short-lived in celebration, however, as Trick Williams ambushed him after the bell, further adding tension to an already volatile four-way matchup.
The winner of this four-man contest will move on to challenge Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, making Saturday Night’s Main Event a critical stop on the road to one of WWE’s biggest events of the year.
