1/17 AEW Collision Results – Welcome to WrestlingAttitude’s results of AEW Collision on January 17, taped earlier this week on Phoenix, AZ.

Andrade vs. Angelico

Andrade came to the ring, accompanied by Don Callis. Angelico was already in the ring and was accompanied by Serpentico.

Angelico immediately locked him up from behind, but Andrade hit him with a back elbow to escape. Andrade hit him in the corner, went for the pin, and pulled him up by the hair before getting to three. He teased the Figure Four before chopping Angelico against the ropes. He followed with Three Amigos, except Angelico escaped before the second one and hit him with a rising kick. Angelico tied him up, so Andrade backed him into the corner and forearmed him.

Angelico hit him with a big boot and Andrade followed with a rising knee strike before putting him on the turnbuckle. Andrade superpelxed him and connected with the Three Amigos before pulling him up by the hair again.

Angelico with a rising knee strike. Angelico attempted to block a rising knee strike, but Andrade caught him with a back elbow. Andrade picked him up and hit him with The Message for the win.

Eddie Kingston & Ortiz vs. Grizzled Young Veterans

GYV made their way to the ring first. Kingston and Ortiz follow. This is Ortiz’s first match in 728 days.

Ortiz and Gibson start us off. Ortiz took him to the mat. Gibson put him in a side headlock and baked him into the ropes, allowing Drake to tag in. Ortiz leapfrogged Gibson and Drake leapfrogged Ortiz. Ortiz sent Gibson over the ropes and hit Drake with a gamengiri before doing a tope con hilo on Gibson. He followed with a facebuster on Drake and then a crossbody.

Kingston tagged in and they double teamed Drake. Kingston punched him a few times before chopping him to the mat and tagging in Ortiz. They double teamed him again. Ortiz pinned him for one. Kingston tagged back in and worked Drake’s arm, but Drake had him by the nose and backed him into the corner and Gibson tagged in.

GYV tee off on Kingston. Gibson kicked Kingston and tagged in Drake. They double team Kingston before Drake hit him with a shotgun dropkick. Kingston took him down with a lariat and tagged in Ortiz. Gibson got in the ring and they brawled. Ortiz hit him with a flatliner. Drake tagged in and they double teamed Ortiz. Drake ran across Gibson’s back to kick Kingston off the apron. Gibson held Ortiz in place on the outside so Drake could hit him with a tope.

After the break, Ortiz suplexed Drake and covered him for two. Drake held his ankle so he couldn’t tag Kingston. He hit him with a dragonscrew and tagged in Gibson. Gibson tried to suplex him, but Ortiz countered, but was unable to tag in Kingston, but Drake already tagged in and held his arm so he couldn’t. Drake tried to strike Kingston, but Kingston blocked it, struck him and Ortiz landed a kick to the face and both men were down.

Ortiz finally tagged in and told Drake to get up and fight him before they exchanged blows. Kingston hit knife edge chops in the corner before Gibson grabbed Kingston’s arm. He hit a leg trip on Drake and tagged in Ortiz. Ortiz powerbombed him, but Drake got a shoulder up at 2.5.

Kingston tagged back in and put Drake on his shoulders. As Ortiz ascended the turnbuckle, Gibson shoved him to the floor. Drake hit an enzuguri on Kingston before Gibson tagged in. He forearmed Kingston multiple times. Kingston chopped him to the mat. They exchanged blows. Gibson stomped on his foot, so Kingston pulled the straps of his gear down before suplexing Gibson. Gibson distracted the ref while Drake choked Kingston with a scarf. Kingston took the scarf and Gibson connected with a facebuster and pinned him for two. Drake connected with a flatliner and held him in a submission while Gibson stomped his head. Ortiz sent Gibson over the top rope and he went over too. Kingston nearly went to sleep, but flipped off Drake. Drake slapped him and Kingston responded with slaps and stomps. Drake used the ropes to roll him up. Ortiz hit Drake with a sack of coins. Kingston spiked him and pinned him.

Winner: Eddie Kingston & Ortiz

We hear from FTR

Tony Schiavone interviewed Stoke and FTR on the ramp. Schiavone talked about Davis and Doyle being the Number One contenders for the tag titles. Stoke said he won’t talk bad about Don Callis and congratulated Davis and Doyle. He’s jealous because they have the “IT factor”, the strength, the look and they’re “two guys I wouldn’t want to see in a dark alley.” He longs for the days when professional wrestlers looked like professional wrestlers. They have “everything except the ability to beat the greatest tag team alive.”

Cash said you can ask SportsCenter and ESPN who the best tag team is. “You are good, but you are not FTR good.” Dax told Schiavone to do his job and hold the mic for him. He greeted Nigel and said he hoped he was doing okay. He wanted Schiavone to ask him what he hates most about these people. Dax replied that they live in a fantasy world and think every time they see something new, they think it’s the best thing ever. They got one match and now they get a title shot. FTR built the division and they aren’t getting a title match after one win.

Zayda Steel vs. Marina Shafir

Steel comes to the ring, accompanied by Christopher Daniels. Shafir follows, accompanied by Jon Moxley. Mox joined commentary.

Shafir flipped her off when the bell rang. Steel jumped on Shafir and wailed on her. She went underneath Shafir, but Shafir couldn’t quite catch her. Steel connected with a headscissor takedown and Shafir rolled to the outside. Steel connected with a tope suicida. They exchanged blows on the outside. Shafir swung at Steel, but she ducked and Shafir connected with the ringpost. Steel put her back in the ring and leapt off the turnbuckle, but Shafir moved. Shafir took her down with a Big Boot while Mox hyped her up from commentary.

After the break, Steel hit her with a rising knee in the corner. Shafir slammed her to the mat and then put her in a full nelson before punching her in the gut while having wrist control. Steel put her in a waistlock. Shafir reversed into Mother’s Milk for the win.

Don Callis Family vs. SkyFlight

Fletcher, Alexander, and El Clon come to the ring, accompanied by Callis. SkyFlight follows. Callis joined commentary and Mox stayed. Callis and Mox exchange words and both men stand up. Callis ran off and Mox walked across the stage to head through the crowd. He was blindsided by Lance Archer and Rocky Romero. They threw him in the barricade. Archer stepped on him while Romero kicked him. Yuta and Garcia jumped the barricade and started brawling. Clon got involved too. Castagnoli appeared and uppercut Archer and bounced his head off the time keeper’s table. Fletcher and Castagnoli went at it. Everyone is brawling. SkyFlight came out and dove on everyone.

The match started after the commercial break and Darius took Fletcher down with an armdrag. Darius continued working the arm. Sky tagged in and chopped Fletcher’s arm while Darius held it in place. He continued to work the arm.The Death Riders leave. Sky held Fletcher’s arm and Dante stomped on it from the top. Darius tagged in, leapfrogged his brother and landed on Fletcher’s outstretched arm. Darius followed with an uppercut before working his arm. Sky tagged in and focused on the arm. Fletcher slammed Sky down and tagged in Clon.

Clon stomped Sky’s arm and dragged him into the corner and tagged in Alexander. Sky punched him in the gut and Alexander hit and kicked him. Sky raked his eyes and rolled to his corner and tagged in Darius. Darius took out Fletcher and Clon before kicking Alexander. He followed with a Spanish Fly on Alexander and a tope suicida on Fletcher. Darius hit a flatliner on Alexander in the ring. Dante tagged in and they double teamed Alexander.

Darius tagged in and had Alexander on his shoulders when Fletcher tried to pull Dante off the apron, but Sky forearmed him. Dante attempted a moonsault from the top rope, but Darius and Alexander were a little too far over, so he landed on his feet. Alexander slammed Top Flight into one another before suplexing Darius. Clon struck Darius multiple times in the corner as Fletcher got in the ring. Fletcher connected with a sitdown powerbomb and Clon followed with a double stomp. Clon punched Darius in the face and took him down with a back elbow. Fletcher tagged in and hit Darius in the gut. Darius chopped him repeatedly before Fletcher took him down. Fletcher took Sky down off the apron.

After the break, Alexander and Darius exchange blows. Alexander partially put him in an ankle lock. Darius kicked him and sent Alexander stumbling into his corner, allowing Fletcher to tag in. Darius hit Fletcher with a vertical suplex. Dante and Clon tag in simultaneously. Dante took him down several times before hitting him with a shotgun dropkick. Fletcher got on the apron, but Dante kicked him. Clon punched him. Dante responded with a gamengiri and a crossbody. Clon connected with an armdrag and an overhead Pele Kick.

Fletcher tagged in and took Sky off the apron before kicking Dante in the corner. He had Dante poised for a brainbuster, but Sky stopped it and Dante hit an assisted DDT. Darius tagged in and SkyFlight tee off on Fletcher. Top Flight hit a double team flatliner, but Alexander broke up the pin. Dante and Sky send Alexander and Clon out of the ring. Alexander dropped Sky on the apron. Dante jumped off the top rope, but Clon moved and hit him with a running lariat. Clon did a moonsault onto Dante. Darius forearmed Fletcher, but Fletcher connected with a half and half before tagging in Alexander. Darius escaped a suplex and chopped Alexander. Alexander forearmed him before taking him out by the knee. He cinched in the ankle lock, but Darius sent him into the turnbuckle. Alexander torqued his ankle while Darius was on the ropes. Alexander slammed him to the mat and hit him with a piledriver for the win.

Winner: Don Callis Family

Konosuke Takeshita made his return from Japan. He walked past Callis to hug Fletcher and raise his hand. 

Penelope Ford & Megan Bayne vs. Viva Van & Danielle Kamela

Bayne and Ford come to the ring first where Van and Kamela were already waiting. Shafir was pacing on the outside.

Bayne took Kamela with a flying lariat and punched Van in the face and suplexed over the rope into the ring. Bayne splashed them in the corners. She splashed them simultaneously. She did a Samoan Drop while holding both of them. Bayne sent Van to the outside before tagging in Ford for a Doomsday Device. Ford got the pin.

Winner: Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford

After the match, Shafir celebrated with them. “Timeless” Toni Storm, Mina Shirakawa, and Luther came out. Storm targeted Shafir and said “behind every sloptart is a bigger sloptart.” Shirakawa said they won’t stop until they get their revenge.

Jack Perry vs. Anthony Bowens- Winner gets a shot at the National Championship

Ricochet joins commentary.

Perry comes to the ring first and spits his gum at Ricochet before getting in the ring. Bowens followed and talked trash to Ricochet.

They shake hands before locking up. Bowens backed him up into the corner. Perry put him in a side headlock and Bowens reversed into one. Perry took Bowens to the mat. Bowens puts him in another side headlock before rolling him up. Bowens took him down with a shoulder tackle and Perry swept the legs and covered him. They stare each other down.

Perry offers to scissor Bowens and Bowens accepts. Perry bit his fingers. Perry chopped him and went up top, but Bowens pulled him down to make him land on the ropes. Bowens bounced the ropes and scissored him before knocking him to the floor. Bowens flipped off Ricochet before sending Perry towards the barricade. Perry got his leg up, back elbowed Bowens, and jumped onto the barricade. Bowens put him on his shoulders and planted him face first into the apron.

Perry got in the ring and went for a baseball slide, but Bowens caught him. Perry reversed into a cazadora into a bulldog. Both men are down.

After the break, Perry DDT’d Bowens. Perry charged at Bowens, but Bowens spun him around and hit him with multiple strikes. Bowens did a DDT off the middle rope and pinned him for two. Perry with a thrust kick. He went for a lariat, but Bowens caught him and slammed him to the mat. Bowens followed with a running knee.

Bowens got Perry on his shoulders, but Perry escaped, rolled him up, and pinned him for two. Bowens took Perry to the mat and pinned him for two. Perry responded with a thrust kick. Bowens turned him inside out with a lariat. Perry hit him with two running knees for the win.

Winner: “Jungle” Jack Perry
