Nick Khan on Pat McAfee’s WWE Return – WWE President Nick Khan says the company expects Pat McAfee to return once the college football season wraps up.
McAfee stepped away from his WWE commentary role in June, and his schedule intensified when college football began. During an appearance on today’s Pat McAfee Show, Khan was asked directly when McAfee would be back with WWE.
McAfee responded, “I am in shape.” Khan then mentioned that he had received six messages during the interview from people asking when McAfee was returning. McAfee joked that Khan really only had one message but “kayfabed it to six.”
Khan followed up by saying, “We’re going to bring you back. I know you and I are going to sit together once college football slows.”
McAfee is a key part of ESPN’s College GameDay, and the college football season is nearing a major transition. Conference championship games take place this weekend, with bowl season kicking off shortly afterward. Once that schedule clears, WWE appears ready to resume McAfee’s on-air involvement.
